FedEx has also begun testing RFID technology in Australia, mainly using RFID tags and scanners to automatically check and report on the status of pending shipments. At present, without the help of the RFID tag, the staff must check and scan each package to confirm its current status, and then update the package information in the system for customers to check at any time. As long as the RFID technology is effectively used, we can set up an RFID tag that can actively report data on each shipment waiting for customs clearance, so that the shipment can periodically send signals to the RFID scanner. In this way, FedEx can get more information about the shipment, improve the efficiency of the staff, and most importantly, provide customers with more information, so that they can always grasp the status of the package.

Fourth, the status quo of RFID technology used in the express delivery industry, existing problems and future prospects

At present, the application of RFID technology in the express delivery industry mainly involves the following aspects: First, in the express distribution center for large quantities of parcels and express mail, through RFID technology, using the relevant logistics information in RFID, to achieve automatic, high-speed express mail Sorting. In China's private small and medium-sized express delivery companies generally use manual manual sorting, the use of RFID technology, coupled with automatic sorting system, can greatly improve the efficiency of sorting, and win the advantage for the express company in the fierce competition in the industry. Although RFID technology has been applied in some parts of the express delivery industry, it also shows obvious good results in reducing costs and improving efficiency. However, as a new technology, the research and application at this stage is still not mature enough and needs further improvement. Compared with bar codes, the accuracy of RFID reading data is not so satisfactory. In practical applications, the accuracy is more likely to be further reduced by the nature of the items in the shipment (whether it contains liquid, metal or electronic items) and the location of the label; thirdly, the compatibility is poor, and some RFID technologies are not compatible with existing ones. The system and technology lack a unified standard.
